JOEL GOT HIS BELL BACK!!! But I think he was in shock, because he still used his little bell to open the meeting, which was done by GLORIA FREET and MAC leading the National Anthem. JOYCE CHAP-MAN led the Pledge, and JACK FIELDING gave the invocation.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY - GEORGE BISHOP
Some people come into our lives, and quickly go. Some stay for awhile, and leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never the same thereafter.

NOTICE! Notice! Notice! — All caretakers of Pancake Breakfast tools, supplies and miscellaneous equipment used in the Pancake Breakfast---- Please contact ELTON CHATFIELD - PRONTO!! We need to know what we have that can be used, and what we need to replenish.
GUESTS INCLUDED: SARAH VAN CLEAVE, AND HER FATHER, BILL VAN CLEAVE, A PAST PRESIDENT OF BALDWIN PARK KIWANIS; CLAUDIA AND KEVIN OF CHAPMAN COLLEGE, who were guest of JOYCE CHAPMAN, and KEVIN WAS THE SPEAKER.
The recalcitrant "Par Busters", namely BILL MATTHEWS, GEORGE BISHOP, ELTON CHATFIELD AND CARL JOHNSON ; were assessed. or should have been assessed for missing the meeting last week, while they were out enjoying a little "Cow-pasture Pool", and ELTON'S group won a whole $5.00 prize. However, ELTON did a little bragging - No, he did a lot of bragging about his granddaughter's accomplishments-such as winning 9 separate trophies, including the MOST VALUABLE PLAYER, AND carrying a 3.9 grade point average, and contributed $100.00 for all of the above. Then I think Carl Johnson and Bill Matthews paid $5.00. George???? And Joyce Chapman paid $20.00 for bringing the guests. We should pay her.
KEVIN (?) gave a brief history of Chapman College, which was started by Frank and Charles Chapman, who grew up in McComb, Illinois in the late 1800s. It was initially a Christian College, and Charles Chapman donated $50,000. The present college opened its doors in 1920 at Los Angeles Street and Vermont, and was associated with UCLA (?), but later broke away, and then moved
to Whittier, where now it has several full fledged colleges and even a Law School. The college has a tremendous ongoing building program. Kevin said has gone from $150.00 to a present tuition of $29,900 (which includes room and board).
Kevin was a good speaker, and if I butchered some of the facts; I hope you will forgive me.
