SOUTH HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN 8/25/10
MAC MC ALPIN was plagued with a bad cold, and sore throat, and prevailed upon
his "Little" brother, EARL RAY DUNGEY, who was visiting from Marion, Illinois, to
lead the singing of a patriotic song. EARL chose "GOD BLESS AMERICA", and did an
excellent
job.
JACK FIELDING led the Pledge to the Flag, and ELTON CHATFIELD gave the
Invocation. TEX WILLIAMS' THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
What time of day can make the claim that it is spelled the same whether it be forward or
backward or upside down or in a mirror?
GUESTS: In addition to EARL RAY DUNGEY, we had TONY SALERNO, KATHY
SALERNO, ANTHONY SALERNO and KIM NEWMYER.
VERNELL told ANITA WHITE that his brother was a standup comedian, but he is really
a retired basketball, football and track coach.
BUSINESS SESSION: A motion was made that each member be financially responsible
for at least one ticket to the Installation Dinner on September 29,2010, which carried.
A Motion was made to approve the ByLaw amendment as recommended by the
Bylaw Committee, which carried.
A Motion was made to Approve these six members for the Board of Directors:

The Program was one of, if not the best all year, and could be entitle as simply
I WANT TO BE A KID OF CHARACTER, and the purpose is to give kids a
chance to live a life of Character, and quoting from the small brochure that
was passed out:
The basic foundations of good values in our country are rapidly being forgotten.
We all need to be reminded of the importance of having good character.
Good character is not easily attained - It must be nurtured.
Kid of Character is located at 212 E. Rowland St., #305, Covina, Ca. 91723.
