Only some of us learn by other people's mistakes----
The rest of us have to be with the other people. ????
The first Kiwanis Club meeting was on January 21, 1915.
GUESTS : BRAD MANNING - West Covina
STARR CERSWELL - West Covina
PAT SILVA - West Covina
KEN MILLER was presented with an award for his help with Young Children Priority One. JOEL BEEZY came in late and paid $5.00. JOYCE CHAPMAN paid S5.00 to have JOEL shut up. GEORGE BISHOP outbid everyone for the right to have the FINE FREE BADGE for January and February. MAC MC ALPIN finally brought the badge back and his failure to return the badge at the end of December cost his $10.00. The PREZ sold a Christmas bag to ANITA WHITE for $5.00, and then she bought another one for $5.00. I am not sure she showed what they contained.
MAC defined the four stages of senility, which will not be repeated, but suffice to say that he has reached one or more of the stages.
ANITA WHITE introduced STARR CERSWELL (sp ?) Of the Stellar Bank, who spoke on Identity Theft, and how easy it is to use a name, or an address, Social Security number without your permission; and how some people go to the dump to get info, or use the Internet to gain information about your accounts, or assets. You should shred your data, documents, mail, bills, check book statements, credit card bills, and never give out your pass-words over the Internet or telephone. Good program!!
See the enclosed flyer regarding the 2009 Give Kids a Smile National Dental Screening Campaign, which is just a couple of weeks away. If you can commit any of your Monday or Friday mornings, please fill in the bottom portion and send to Dr. Basta or to our own Dr. Mike Tanaka.
