SOUTH HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN 1-28-10
The meeting was opened with MAC leading the group in the singing of "AMERICA",
followed by STEVE SHERMAN leading the Pledge of Allegiance. TEX WILLIAMS
Thought For the Day: -Do not fly with buzzards. If you would be free, Soar like
an Eagle. - Then GEORGE BISHOP gave a quote from Thomas Jefferson: "I predict future happiness for Americans if they can prevent the government from
wasting the labors of the People under the pretense of taking care of them."
BILL MATTHEWS gave the invocation.
Due to the funeral services for DALE YOUNG'S wife, MARY LOU YOUNG, which
were held at Forest Lawn at 1:30 P. M., the meeting was shortened for those who
wanted to attend. DALE, a former President of South Hills Kiwanis, and a Past
Lt. Governor of Div. 35, passed away in 1998.

SOUTH HILLS KIWANIS will be helping with dental screening again more
info and assignments to come.
GUESTS: SIX (6) members from the Glendora Kiwaniannes made a good size
interclub, and included: Linda Siminsee, Pat Rasmussen, Rona Lunde" Candy
Nunn, JoBeth Raab, Karen Kobus phis Jose Cox, and a guest ofTOM PALMERI,
George Nunez. I think Anita White had a guest also, and I did not get the name.
Plus, I am not sure, but I think it was VERN MOYER, who will speak next week.

Both GEORGE BISHOP and MAC MC ALPIN went by the InterCommunity to see
KEN MILLER, and KEN had already been discharged, PLUS- KEN was not at the
club meeting today, because he was working as a sub-pharmacist- way to go, KEN.
BABE FIELDING is now at the Rowland Convalescent, and is very ill. Our Prayers
go to her, Jack, and Barbara.
BILL MATTHEWS did a good job of introducing the ladies at his table. IRENE
PARKER also needs our prayers. The Fine Free Badge was won by TOM PALMERI
for the moderate sum of $30.00. COOKIE FORD drew her number for the Pot, and
put it back and the drew JOHN MORDOFF'S number, and he won $10.00.
ELTON CHATFIELD was absent today - Par-Busters??? It is a good thing I did not
have to write any thing about the speaker's topic. No space left.
