HARRY ANDERSON received the Golden Heritage Award at the South Hills Country club last Thursday night along with several acknowledgments scrolls, plaques, etc. for all the good work that Harry does for the community. HARRY donated $10.00 to warm the Pot. ELTON CHATFIELD just got back from the BOB HOPE GOLF TOURNEY, and played in the Par Busters last week, and bragged about his grand-son getting some real high awards for his wrestling prowess. ELTON paid $10.00 for bragging and $90 for all the rest of his sins. JOYCE CHAPMAN asked a question: What do they call a flock of geese? Carol Scanlan ( I think) knew the answer - a Gaggle. JOYCE paid $5. KEN MILLER won the raffle - $10.00 and donated it back to the pot.

ELTON brought another good program - PAT KING, who spoke on the HOPI and NAVAJO indians, who make KACHINAS dolls, which are hand carved from cotton-wood. PAT brought quite a collection of the KACHINAS dolls, which he has carved himself. He had 15 or more dolls with him, and stated that he has a collection of about 150 dolls that
he has carved. He does not sell them, and the dolls are very intricate. PAT stated that Barry Goldwater has a large collection of these dolls. What is truly amazing is the fact that some of them are made from a single block of wood.

PAT stated that the Hopi and Navajo Indian reservation is about 4000 square miles, and has the oldest city on the North American continent, and that the Hopi have a very elaborate society and religion. Thank you PAT and thank you ELTON for bringing a good program.
