SOUTH HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN 1/4/07
The first meeting of the New Year was started with DICK BISHOP leading the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by VJ MAC leading the "Star Spangled Banner" accompanied by GLORIA PREET playing a terribly tuned piano. TOM PALMERI gave the invocation.
GUESTS included MARIE PALMERI and SPEAKER DAWN NELSON.

ELTON CHATFIELD told a story, but unfortunately, someone was talking to this old man, and I could not hear what ELTON said. JOEL BEEZY and MIKE TANAKA helped decorate some of the Rose Parade floats, and served food to the Key Club decorators of the floats.
DICK BISHOP showed up proudly wearing a BOISE STATE shirt, and paid a total of $15.00 for wearing the shirt and his grand child. GEORGE GURNETT paid $20.00 for his 12 th anniversary with ROBERTA. ANITA WHITE paid $5.00 for speaking out of turn. JOEL BEEZY paid $10.00 for his wife's birthday.
MIKE TANAKA paid $20.00 for the FINE FREE BADGE for the month of January.
DAWN NELSON of the COVINA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE spoke on the rewards of being a member of the CHAMBER, and said there are now 600 members of the CHAMBER, which is sponsoring the CITIZEN OF THE YEAR, IRIS BISHOP, (the better half of GEORGE), AND IRIS will be honored at a banquet at the SOUTH HILLS COUNTRY CLUB ON 1/18/07.
