SOUTH HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN 10/9/08

PREZ DON ANDREWS almost lost his bell before he got started with his first meeting, but with a little detective work, he found the bell and we got started.
JOHN MORDOF led the Pledge to the Flag, and VJ MAC challenged the
group to follow him in the singing of "America", and everyone did pretty good.
BILL MATTHEWS gave the invocation. TEX'S Thought For the Day:
"If you want to feel rich, just count all the things you have
That money cannot buy." - Carol Ford

COMING EVENTS:
10/13/08 South Hills Kiwanis Board meeting - Bowl - 5:00 P. M.
10/16/08 Division 35 Meeting - Bowl - 6:00 P. M.

The new president did not make his budget, because he imposed no fines, and he then turned the meeting over to ELTON CHATFIELD, who turned it over to MIKE TANAKA who presented the William A. Dunlap Fellowship Award to a very surprised "MAC" MC ALPIN. This award is given in recognition of outstanding support of the Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha Foundation. This old man was somewhat embarrassed to say the least. Thank you all very much. MIKE gave MAC a pin, a medallion and a plaque.

ELTON CHATFIELD then inducted STEVE SHERMAN as a new member of
South Hills Kiwanis. His wife, Renee, was also in attendance. CAROL SCANLON also assisted in the induction.

GEORGE BISHOP then decorated the new PREZ with a ball-cap and baseball glove, but DON could not catch any balls that were thrown to him. Our waitress, Tina, came in and complained about DON selling her insurance, and putting all the insurance premiums in his own pocket. Someone said Don was just lining his Golden Parachute.
Then PRESIDENT DON got up and told a bunch of stories about his athletic ability, which is hard to believe.

MIKE TANAKA won the drawing, and pulled the Ace of Spades worth $50.00.
