MAC led the singing of the NATIONAL ANTHEM, and started it a wee bit on
the high side, but we made it through. HARRY ANDERSON led the Pledge of
Allegiance, and BILL MATTHEWS gave the invocation. TEX WILLIAMS
Thought For The Day:
"In war time, many men and women did extraordinary things for
Victory as they answered the call to serve. Freedom is never free."

DICK BISHOP told about a surprise the City gave for JACK FIELDING on 11/11.
The City of Covina arranged for a showing of a video of JACK'S flight in the P-51, and
they gave JACK a box that contained a model of a P-51. Incidently, JACK'S daughter,
Barbara, just got home from the hospital.
PREZ. COOKIE called on yours truly for making disparaging remarks in last week's
bulletin, when I called her a wimp for the mild mannered way she has for extracting money for the general fund. That cost $10.00 for today, which is reasonable, but it is
NOT slander, because Truth is a defense. ELTON'S cell phone went off during the
meeting, and JOYCE CHAPMAN offered to and did pay $5.00 for ELTON, who was
somewhat embarrassed, and kicked in $5.00 himself.
ANITA WHITE won the drawing which was worth $10.00, and she introduced
DIANE FONSECA,who spoke about the "SWIM WITH MIKE" Program, which has
been held annually for the past 29 years. It is a swim-a-thon that is held to raise money
for the USC Physically Challenged Athletes Scholarship Fund. Their goal is to pave
the way for individuals to overcome tragedies and strive for a better future. The SWIM
WITH MIKE program has been expanded nationally and awards scholarships to schools
other than USC. The 30th Annual SWIM WITH MIKE will be held 4/17/2010 at the
USC MC DONALD'S SWIM STADIUM.
