V3 MAC led the Star Spangled Banner accompanied by GLORIA FREET. COOKIE FORD let the Pledge to the Flag followed by ELTON CHATFIELD saying the prayer. TEX WILLIAMS' THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

Guests included JIMMY WELDON and VERN MORRIS from a visiting Kiwanis club.

SOME ASSESSMENTS FOR THE DAY: JOEL BEEZY PAID $40.00 for his birthday and his wife's; COOKIE FORD paid $20.00 for her 49 years with HUBBY DON; DR. CHATFIELD tried to lie about his age, but finally paid $74.00 for his birthday; JOYCE CHAPMAN kicked in another $5.00 to help out ELTON. GEORGE BISHOP must have spent all his money on his recent cruise, but gave $15.00 of what was left over. ANITA WHITE won the auction and a pretty Afghan shawl with a bid of $40.00
JIMMY WELDON , an author, actor, inspirational speaker and pilot, gave a new program on Buried Treasure (it's all in your head), and said we all have a great computer "Up There"; he said he was 84 years old, and suggested that you never retire, and cited Colonel Sanders who started KFC at the age of 65 years; he suggested we write everything down; and told about a man who was talking to a man who stuttered; the stutterer asked why he was having that operation, and was told: "Because I tinkle like you talk". He told one about a grandma who got an "F" in sex, which was enjoyed by all of the old grandpas in the room. However, he closed the meeting with everyone holding hands while he said a closing prayer.
KUDOS TO COOKIE FORD FOR ARRANGING THE CHRISTMAS PARTY AT THE COVINA PERFORMING ARTS CENTER, WHERE A VERY GOOD DINNER WAS PREPARED AND SERVED BY CHRIS AND RETHA CHAMPION AND THEIR ASSISTANTS.
