CAROL SCANLAN voluntarily assessed herself $20.00 for her birthday. Penny Pincher JOEL BEEZY (Business is bad) gave $1.00, BILL MATTHEWS paid $50.00 for OLIVE'S Birthday; then BILL had the winning ticket and drew the Ace of Spades worth $35.00.

JOEL BEEZY introduced RABBI JONATHIN KUPETZ, who spoke on Jewish holidays, and said that Jewish holidays begin on the evening before the day specified, and ends at sundown. HANUKKAH begins at sunset on 12/11/09 and ends on 12/19/09. Other HIGH Holidays are ROSH HASHANAH and YOM KIPPUR. Most Jewish holidays begin on
or near the 15th of the month. HANUKKAH is not the Jewish Christmas. Rabbi Kupetz also spoke on the Jewish candleholder, and said the light should always be increasing in our lives.

HARRY ANDERSON introduced DR. DENNIS D. NELSON, the pastor of the Christ Lutheran Church of West Covina, who spoke on the ADVENT SEASON for Christmas. Which takes place at the darkest time of the year. ADVENT is the 4th Sunday before CHRISTMAS, and we prepare for the birth of CHRIST. JESUS is the light of the world, and he will return, but we will never know when that will happen. In any event,
ADVENT is a season of hope and celebration. If the whole world celebrated Advent, it would indeed be a wonderful world.

MERRY CHRISTMAS - HAPPY HOLIDAYS - HAPPY HANUKKAH - PEACE
ON EARTH AND GOOD WILL TO ALL MEN!
