SOUTH HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN 3/25/10
VJ MAC led the singing of "GOD BLESS AMERICA". CAROL SCANLAN led
the Pledge to the Flag. DON ANDREWS gave the invocation, and TEX'S
Thought For The Day was a quote from that old guy Anonymous, who said:
"Don't complain about growing old. The privilege is denied to many people."
Guests included Past Lt. Gov. Dave Wallach, and our speaker, Debbie McIntosh.
The PREZ. started the business session late, and it was short and sweet. HARRY
ANDERSON paid $50.00 for the privilege of being married to Janet for 50 years,
and the great anniversary party that was held last Saturday. I do not know how
many people attended, but it was a great party with good food. Thank you Harry
and Janet.
ELTON CHATFIELD, our Pancake Breakfast Chairman, made a motion that each
member be responsible for selling 20 tickets to the pancake breakfast, and each
member must help with the chores necessary to make the Pancake Breakfast a
success, or have a written excuse- from the teacher - the minister - the President Elton
or someone of authority - The tickets have been passed out - SELL - SELL

because she was on Jury Duty. GEORGE BISHOP had a complete knee replacement
on Tuesday, 3/23/10, and is recuperating at the San Antonio Hospital, but will be sent
to Casa Colima Hospital for rehabilitation on Saturday, 3/27/10. He says they still will
not let him play basketball, and he will be happy to get back to playing golf.
ELTON CHATFIELD introduced DEBBIE MC INTOSH, who was dressed up like
Rosie the Riveter. DEBBIE spoke and showed some slides from World War I, and
told about the role that women played in both World War I and World War II. She
said that 20 million women served in some capacity in World War II, and that
90,000 women served overseas in World War I. Unfortunately, I had to leave at
1:30 and did not hear her complete presentation.
