SOUTH HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN 3/5/09
Reporter: G. Bishop

OUR SONG: Was led by V.J. McAlpin who led us in a rousing "God Bless
America"
PLEDGE: Ken Miller
INVOCATION: Anita White
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Tex never fails us with another one by Henry
Ford: "Coming together is a beginning; Staying together is progress; and
Working together is success"
GUESTS: Lloyd Emmert, a friend of Elton's. Elton says he knows he is the right church when he sees Lloyd in the pew ahead of him.
ANNOUNCEMENTS: Anita informs that we had an inter-club with the
West Covina club at South Hills Golf Club last Tuesday morning with 5 of
our members attending.
BOARD MEETING: Monday at 5:00 here at the bowl. Harry Anderson has also requested some of us to come at 4:00 O'clock for a special meeting on possible KeyClub at Northview High School
FINES: There were no fmes today pending time for our speakers.
PROGRAM: We were pleased to have two members of our local
Hospice, Barry Crain, and Chaplain, Leon Directo. They told us
about our local hospice on Badillo Ave. and then invited the club
members to come to the facility for a tour. We followed up to the
"home" and enjoyed a fme tour and further explanation of how this
important facility quietly functions as one of the teams in our
medical community.
RAFFLE: George Bishop was fortunate to draw a 10.
Meeting was adjourned early so we could enjoy the Hospice tour.
