THOUGHT FOR THE DAY : " There are two kinds of tragedy
One is not getting what you want, and the other is getting it" Oscar Wilde
GUESTS included KEVIN HODGSON, the South Hills High School Key Club Adviser, who was also our speaker, and Stephanie and Albert, two very sharp Key Clubbers. Stephanie is Valedictorian, with a 4.0 grade point average. There 250 members in the South Hills High School Key Club. We should try to learn what they are doing for recruiting members.
TOM PALMERI donated $25.00 despite the election results. MIKE TANAKA and COOKIE FORD were late and paid $5.00 each. ELTON CHATFIELD showed up at IHOP for a Pancake Breakfast meeting, but no one else showed up. WERE THEY AT DANNY'S KOSHER DELI? ELTON said we should have the Pancake Breakfast meetings at IHOP since we use their batter. I am not sure, but I think ELTON paid $15.00. The Prez. Called on DON (ANDREWS) ANDERSON, who was wearing his NO FINE BADGE, AND DON was offended because JOEL did not know his name.
KEVIN HODGSON an articulate young man, who has been in the Covina School District, and surrounds, since he was in the 4th grade attending or teaching and coaching at Mesa, Sierra Vista, and South Hills. He really has never left, even though he has also attending a small little school named USC to gain his Doctoral Program in Educational Leadership. His decision to go into an Administration Program is simple - to make more money. Both of his parents are graduates of that cross town rival - UCLA, and his grandmother and mother are still in education. Kevin said that USC graduates have the highest percentage of supertinents in the state.
Unfortunately, some of our members had to leave before the program was finished.
