SOUTH HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN 4/22/10

PRES. COOKIE FORD opened the meeting by inveigling VJ MAC to lead the
group in the singing ofa patriotic song, and MAC chose "AMERICA". which is considerably easier to sing than the National Anthem.
JACK FIELDING then gave an enhanced version of the Pledge to the Flag,
followed by TEX'S Thought For The Day:
"A gal Whb can handle a male team In a tight spot Just might be
the gal you want to hang on to." By you know who.

BILL MATTHEWS gave the invocation. The Rev. JAMES PARKER sneaked out early again, and the last time he was seen, he was headed towards Danny's Deli or somewhere in that area.

Guests included the speaker, Jennifer Choctaw, and a couple of well dressed people from the West Covina Kiwanis Club, who were nterclubbing. Guess what! No one gave me their names, and I apologize for not knowing them.

SEE JOEL BEEZY THIS IS A GOOD FUND RAISER, AND NOT A BIT OF WORK. JUST PAY FOR DINNER AND ENJOY.
JOEL BEEZY won the pot.and drew a $7.00 card. You could hear him yell in the bowling alley. Business is tough in the mortgage trade.

This writer admitted to making two mistakes in last week's bulletin, and offered to pay $1.00 for everyone who caught them. ELTON CHATFIELD was the only one who caught the fact that there were more no- hitters after Bob FELLER'S, but none on opening day of the season.

ANITA WHITE introduced Jennifer Choctaw, who is affiliated with Serenity Infant Care Homes, which was founded by three social workers in response to the need for foster homes and programs in southern California. It is a non-profit agency, whose mission is to provide quality care foster homes that require special emphasis. Ms. Choctaw brought some life-like dolls to demonstrate some problems that babies have.
Although Serenity specializes in babies and toddlers, the place children up to 18 years. Serenity is also a licensed adoption agency.
