SOUTH HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN - 6/26/08

GLORIA FREET is recuperating from a fall, and VJ MAC led the group in the singing of "GOD BLESS AMERICA." COOKIE FORD led the Pledge to the flag, and BILL MATTHEWS gave the invocation.

TEX’S Thought For the Day:

"Man is not paid for having a head and hands--but for how he uses them"

GUESTS included MARIE PALMERI and BOB MORLEY.

JOHN RADCLIFFE had a heart attack, and wound up in Inter-Community. He is home now and feeling much better.

GLORIA FREET had a fall, and recuperated at the ROWLAND, but has been discharged, and is supposed to be at home, but I think she may be staying at a relative's house, because I cannot reach her at home.

TOM PALMERI and TEX WILLIAMS had a little bidding war going on for the FINE FREE BADGE for the month of July, with TOM winning out with a bargain price of $25.00. JOEL BEEZY’S daughter graduated from CAL-POLY with a GPA of 3.45, and JOEL paid $2.00 (that is all he had with the shape of the mortgage market); BILL MATTHEWS paid $5.00 for some great accomplishments of his granddaughter, SARA PALMER; JOYCE CHAPMAN paid $5.00 for the good meal; GEORGE BISHOP paid $5.00 because of the light shining off of his head into the eyes of the PREZ ANITA, who paid $5.00 for not introducing the guests. ANITA also won the pot ($4.00) which she donated back; TOM PALMERI paid $5.00 for his son graduating with a 3.92 GPA; and finally VERNELL JACKSON MC ALPIN, who had a full head of hair for 81 years, and then lost it in 1 1/2 years due to some sort of scalp disease, suddenly acquired a great hair system in one day, and no-one can tell.

REV. ROBERT MORLEY the pastor of the Methodist gave a great program. He sang and played a guitar, and furnished a great sound system, and a spiritual message in song. WOW!! He was great. I just wish I could play the guitar and sing. Thank you ELTON OR COOKIE, or whoever invited Rev. Morley. (Spelling)
