NEXT WEEK -- There will be a meeting. Ya' All Come.
CONCERTS UNDER THE STARS - WE HAVE EARNED ABOUT $3500.00 ALREADY, AND THERE IS A LOT MORE @ $55.00 PER PERSON FOR ALL WE SELL ---- SO, SELL - SELL - SELL.
The opening of the business session of the meeting was commenced with the auctioning off of the FINE FREE BADGE, which yours truly has worn all month, and saved a lot of money, because INEZ and I celebrated our anniversary in KAUAI, HAWAII, AND I got to brag about my grandson MAC QUINN and great-grandsons, ERIC and ALEC winning the West Covina Minor League baseball championship last Tuesday evening, and even though LITTLE MAC was touched for 5 runs in the first inning, he shut out the other team for the rest of the game, and and they won 15 to 5.
TOM PALMERI and ANITA WHITE had a spirited bidding session for the right to the FINE FREE BADGE for July, which ANITA won for $50.00. ANITA said she probably will save lots of money next month. JOYCE CHAPMAN gave $6.00 (I think) because the food was so good. ELTON CHATFIELD paid $5.00 for disturbing the President, and tried to borrow the money from JOYCE. Prez. JOEL'S has a very smart daughter, who got straight "A's" (she takes after her mother). Joel paid his last $3.00.
MIKE TANAKA gave a spiel about where the funds go that we collect from fines, and paid $10.00 for his forthcoming trip to the Kiwanis International Convention to be held in San Antonio, Texas, and it is estimated that about 6000 delegates will attend.
JOHN RADCLIFFE paid $5.00 because he was wearing big patch on his nose placed by a dermatologist. WILLIAM MATTHEWS had a rather bad fall last year, and hurt his back, but he is back to playing golf, and last week broke 100 for the first time since his fall last year.
MARLYN DALL, the advance sales consultant for the Los Angeles County Fair talked about the fair, which runs from September 7 -30, 2007, and said that we could raise money by selling tickets at reduced prices (See enclosed), and said that SENIOR DAYS are WEDNESDAYS, AND that SENIORS CAN GET IN FOR ONLY $5.00. Sounds like a good deal.
