SOUTH HILLS KIWANIS BULLETIN 8/23/07
Reporter = VJ Mac - The meeting was opened with HARRY ANDERSON leading "My Country 'Tis of Thee", or did DICK BISHOP lead the flag salute first? I think JOEL changed the order. Then JACK FIELDING and TEX WILLIAMS led the silent prayer, only TEX did a pretty good job of saying it.
8/23/07 - BAR- BE- QUE At the Park 6:00 P. M.
9/15/07 Installation at Cal-Poly - one ticket @ $35 (at least)
NO PROGRAM - Light Fining Session -
DICK BISHOP paid $10.00 for traveling to Boise, Id. With some excuse about traveling with his daughter or to see her. BILL MATTHEWS paid $5.00 because his granddaughter made the volley ball team at South Hills High School. TEX WILLIAMS paid $1.00 (that's right) for something or other. VJ Mac paid $5.00 because he is going out of state on South Hills Kiwanis business. DON ANDREWS' daughter got her second degree as a--LPN, and DON gave $5.00. JOEL BEEZY got a cell phone call DURING the meeting, and poured in $5.00.
GLORIA FREET told about going to CAS and getting a light weight wheel chair - for nothing - no strings no red-tape- for free, and.. JOEL BEEZY'S wife was able to get a walker for no cost AGAIN, I say: This is a good Kiwanis project, and we should make a major contribution from our foundation fund.
MC ALPIN noted that there are more Octogenarians in the club than any other age group, and that there were at least NINE (9) present today. We need some new and young fresh members!!!!
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:
There's always so much work to do- but when it seems overwhelming, just remember how lucky you are not to be standing in the unemployment line.
